Description
|
Rare Sèvres large two handled tall cup ‘gobelet cornet’ painted with bands of a brown ground with a finely gilded pattern and continuous rural scenes. Date letter pp for 1792.
Painted by Pierre-Joseph Rosset (1753-99) (painter of flowers landscapes & patterns) Gilded by Jean Chauvaux (1764-1800) (gilder and painter of patterns)
The shape of this cup is from the designs for Marie Antoinette’s dairy at Rambouillet.
