Description
|
A pair of extraordinary Meissen ewers with beautiful ormolu mounts, each reserved with elaborate gilt and enamel scroll work and painted with European harbour scenes, in both monochrome and coloured enamels, in the style of Horoldt. Chinese figures are seated by each of the large quatrelobed panels and Kakiemon flowers are painted to the front and back with four scattered insects.
Blue crossed swords inside the necks.
