Description
|
A pair of Bow dessert plates, painted with a border of mazarin blue ground and gilt foliage. The centre painted with beautiful exotic birds perched on rocky mounds and foliate stems. The reverse cleverly painted with gilt sprigs designed to cover manufacturing imperfections.
Mazarin blue was named after Cardinal Mazarin for an unknown reason, it is a French term to describe deep blue even textured ground colours.
Anchor and Dagger mark in red.
