Description
|
A fine Meissen figure of the Tyrolean trinket seller, "Tirolerin", modelled by P. Reinicke and J J Kändler. The figure is holding an open box covered in brown faux fur:
Placed on the open box are 4 strands of different coloured necklaces, 2 with gold clasps: a gold crucifix (or bible) with blue and red stones. The contents of the interior of the box are: a pair of silver (now tarnished) spectacles; a rectangular snuff box decorated with a puce flower pattern; a pair of silver (now tarnished) earrings(?); a gold etui; a pair of gold buckles; another gold crucifix or bible with blue and red stones; a pair of silver (now tarnished) scissors; a pair of gold and blue stone earrings; a small gold spoon; a gold shell snuff box and a matching rectangular snuff box decorated with a puce flower pattern; In her hand she holds one of the pair to the gold shell-shaped snuff box.
