An exceptionally fine and rare Meissen teapot and cover, with a polygonal spout and pinched handle, painted with a detailed harbour scene with elegant figures and merchant ships on one side and a European landscape with horsemen in country pursuits, horses, and a distant castle on the other, within gilt quatrelobe cartouches embellished with iron red and purple foliate scrollwork finished with Böttger lustre, gilt scrollwork borders flanked by beautiful 'indianische Blumen'. The cover has a similar detailed palette. 9cm High 16cm (Spout to handle)
